The
EU Pet Travel Scheme
We do micro chipping, vaccination, blood test for rabies
titre for UK and all other EU countries under EU pet
travel scheme.
European regulation 998/2004 has taken effect from
3rd July 2004. Its set out the rules for pet animals
traveling between European Union (EU) countries and
into the EU from other countries.
To enter or re-enter the UK from a Non – EU listed
country without quarantine a pet must, in this order,
be microchiped, vaccinated against rabies and blood
tested, issued with an EU pet passport or an official
third country veterinary health certificate and treated
against ticks and tapeworms.
Pets check List :
Step 1
- My pet has been micro chipped
- The microchip is ISO standard
- The microchip can be read
Step 2
- My pet was at least 3 months old when vaccinated
- It was vaccinated against rabies after being fitted
with a microchip
- The microchip has been entered correctly by the
vet on the vaccination card
Step 3
- I have a record from the vet of the date the blood
sample was taken showing the correct microchip number.
The blood sample was taken 30 days after the vaccination
- My pet has satisfactory blood test at EU approved
laboratory
- I have a copy of the blood test result showing
the correct microchip number and the date of the blood
sample was taken
Step 4
- The official veterinary health certificate
- My pet had a blood sample taken at least 6 calendar
months before the day it will enter the UK
Step 5
- A vet has treated my pet for ticks and tapeworms
24- 48 hours before it will be checked in for its
journey into UK
- I have the required certificates for the above
Note
: You may get your pet microchipped, vaccinated and
blood test done well in advance. Henceforth you need to
keep the vaccinations up to date.
